I was only able to go in for one basic figure. My hope is to be able to get more during the Backerkit if I can afford it. Taxes coming in should help. I'm not into the Marvel Inspired. I'm more for the SWAT guys and MAYBE some G.I. Joe type guys. I'm not even that big into the G.I. Joe stuff but it's cool enough I guess. We probably won't get these until 2023 anyway. There's another line of "Military" type figures and the guy doing it seems to like to trash talk, but some of his stuff looks cool. It's more of a mercenary type look going on with a lot of the stuff he's shown. It's cool and all, but he hasn't shown anything like the SWAT figures from Army Alphas.

I thought it was odd this time around that the "Army" part of Army Alphas consisted of only a single military figure (you can kinda count Alpha, I guess). Im sure the Marvel themed figures helped push the KS through, but they were never going to be something I was interested in.

Do you have a link to the other military figures by any chance?

It's being called "Action Force." The Kickstarter hasn't started yet. This guy says he used to work for Hasbro. Here is the thread over on thefwoosh:

Yeah, his comments do make him come off as a bit of a d-bag. I think its possible he was trying to be edgy in the way he was trying to claim his stuff was better, and then it got the better of him.

Either way, his stuff looks cool, but nothing so far that strikes me as something i'm terribly interested in. We'll see what he offers when his KS actually goes up

Another 1:18 line. I could use some pech for my barbarian horde, but $30 for a single figure is a bit much.

Edit: Didn't realize that was Canadian currency. I might get on board.

These look really good, but this scale has been more or less abandoned by the toy industry again, and my interest has largely gone with it.

If Mythic Legions had ended up going 1/18 scale like it was supposed to, these would be a perfect accompaniment

I would definitely go in if they were scaled with Mythic Legions.

This is the one I've been waiting for. I didn't buy any of the feathered ones, in part because they required a stand, but do want some of these. I really like the reddish brown one in the upper left corner of the group shot, but the color schemes on some of the others seem to detract from the sculpts rather than enhance them; I'm sure there'll still be plenty to choose from, though.

I wasn't paying attention and this kickstarter went live.

Thus far I don't have a lot of interest. The closest to an actual military figure is a stretch goal that really does seem like a stretch they'll reach. I'm gonna keep an eye on it though.

Those look kind of neat. Mostly I'm interested in a few of the stretch goals, so we'll see how this all pans out.

Weird that it's called "Action Force" though. That was the name of GI Joe in Europe in the 80's. I don't see anything on the campaign or on his website that indicates these are officially licensed products (though maybe the trademark has been abandoned?).

My understanding is that the Action Force trademark got bought by this guy and now he's using it for this line. It was laid out on one of the message boards, but I don't remember where exactly I saw it. I noticed he makes a point to use TM after every usage of the name.

Yeah, he bought the rights to the name Action Force. So he's within his legal right to brand it. These are not Official G I Joe figures or character.

Not official figures, for sure, but the KS exclusive was revealed today and it's Steel Brigade, which was the mail-away figure from the 80's with the personalized file card (so kids could pretend it was themselves under that helmet and say they were a member of GI Joe). Did the trademark on that lapse as well and Valaverse snapped it up? Hasbro has made Steel Brigade figures as recently as 2014.

EDIT: I looked it up and apparently they now own the trademark for Steel Brigade. I wonder what other disused Hasbro IP they were able to snap up.
