Desk Jockey

Hi Everyone, it’s time to get our “Desk Jockey” feature back up and running, and into full swing. We put up a sneak peek episode back in July, but then left you hanging. We are back now, and ready to post these up rapid fire! I’ve written up fifteen additional segments chronicling the sculpting of the Sydot figure from start to finish. So, in case anybody missed it, we are starting off with a re-post of the first segment from July.

---------------------------------

Hey guys, it's Ed. Since Desk Jockey is becoming rather large, it's a bit impractical to post every full entry in this forum post. SO -- I'm going to encourage everyone to visit the Desk Jockey Archive page for all previous entries. Also, more Desk Jockey is on the way, so keep checking the front page of Source Horsemen :D

Nice, I like stuff like this.

My guess? Lizard-Man.

Sydot was my favorite Power Lord when I was a kid. At one point his head fell off but I was able to find a generic robot head to shove into his neck and keep him going a little while longer. I missed his dog head though. So I'm actually interested in this guy. Arkus can't be very far behind, can he? He was definitely my second favorite.

I don't know about Arkus. That's a pretty skeletal limbed guy. I think we will see a few more baddies first.

I have shamed myself with lack of Action Figure knowledge. I was thinking Lizard Man from MOTU, but if I had known about Sydot, i could have avoided such embarresment. Insert Foot A into Mouth B, serve with hollandaise and white wine.

This is awesome!
See, I can sort of get my sculpts to this point… From here out, is what I'm really looking forward to, putting the polish on so to speak…

Interesting insight in today's entry:

http://www.sourcehorsemen.com/?p=1074

Even though I had the privilege of working on the casting/cleaning/assembly of this guy with Shane and Owen, I have to admit I didn't really understand how the legs went together. It's cool to read what was going on in Eric's mind while working on it. A lot of strange anatomy going on there. Definitely an odd creature.

...and Sydot's pretty odd as well ;)
