Early artwork from the Seventh Kingdom Xetheus figure from Four Horsemen Studios

Behind the Scenes: Mynothecean Artwork

Moving office space is always a lot of work, especially when you have tons of “stuff” built up over the years like we have at Four Horsemen Studios. Thankfully we have had the help of some awesome people during our office move, including studio archivist Joshua Van Pelt.

One of the things Josh has been doing as part of the move is uncovering lots of old images and artwork are scanning them so we have them in digital format going forward. Some of the artwork Josh uncovered during this process was the concept art that Eric Treadaway created for our Mynothecean Minotaur figures!

Enter the Seventh Kingdom

We’ve already published some articles on our studios very first original toy – Xetheus the Minotaur from our Seventh Kingdom property.  You can check out our features on the Xetheus toy, as well as some on the Seventh Kingdom story we had established and even some art for unreleased characters.

In terms of Xetheus himself, prior to producing the toy we did a number of pieces of art to showcase the ideas we had. These included an image of not only Xetheus himself, but also some of the variants who would become the Mynothecean Six.  Below we also have a sketch that Cornboy did of some weapons we had considered for the figures and even some early sketch work of the Seventh Kingdom logo and package!
