Mythic Legions Valiant Knight custom art exhibit at DesignerCon 2024

Valiant Knight Art Show at Dcon 2024

Four Horsemen Studios have been a part of DesignerCon, or “DCon” as it is often called, for many years, and our Project Manager, George Gaspar, has been connected to the show since the very beginning! George even set up as a vendor in the days before it was called DesignerCon, back when it was known as “Vinyl Toy Network”. This show remains one of our favorites, and it is unique amongst the other events we do each year. When DCon decided to move to Las Vegas, NV for 2024, we knew we had to be a part of the show during this important transition year. It also helped that 2024 was a milestone year for Four Horsemen Studios with it being the 10-year anniversary of Mythic Legions. We wanted to do something special for this event and for our anniversary. As we began planning our appearance at DesignerCon 2024, we decided to bring back an idea from the first Mythic Legions event in 2014 – we were going to curate a “custom knight art show”!

Custom Knights

Back in 2014 when the Mythic Legions line debuted at Toypocalypse inside Toy Tokyo in NY, we rounded up some friends of the studio and had them customize a hand cast early Mythic Legions knight action figure. This was long before Legions figures were in production and before the incredible customizing community had materialized, yet even at this early stage of the line’s creation, customizing and creativity played an important role.

For DCon 2024, George decided to revisit this idea of a custom action figure art show, but this time we would use one of the latest Legions figures – the Valiant Knight. Looking outside of the normal community of Legions customizers, George enlisted some of the artists from the DesignerCon community. Each of these artists were sent a Mythic Legions Valiant Knight which they customized in their own style. The final customs were displayed at DesignerCon 2024, and they are also captured here in this article along with links to each of these artists’ websites or online galleries.
