What is Mythic Legions?
Set in the Realm of Mythoss, Mythic Legions is an original fantasy setting where the heroic Legions of Light struggle to protect their world as the evil Legions of Dark work to summon their ancient gods after an age of banishment. Known as the Dark Four, these evil beings are the personifications of War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death itself. The Dark Four’s return threatens all life in Mythoss, and the struggles and battles between the factions that make up these heroic and evil armies set the stage for campaigns where you will either work to thwart the return of these evil powers, or do your part to help them destroy the realm once and for all!
What does Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game include?
To start with, Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game includes all the items you need to begin playing! Gameplay items include the Core Rulebook with all the details on how to play this new RPG. We also have a "Beginner Box" available to get started quickly with all the items you need, including a starter adventure, in one package. Dice sets, miniatures (both painted and unpainted), acrylic standees, a GM screen, and more round out the gameplay items that will be available in the first wave of products from Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game.
In addiytion to gameplay items, we also have a full wave of new Mythic Legions figures and add-ons sets available for the RPG. Because our figures have an actual gameplay mechanism in the game via the "boss battle" style Mythic Encounters, we made sure to include a variety of figures and pieces so that players could create their characters for gameplay or for their collections!
Will Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game be hard to play?
Our goal with Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game was to make it easy and fun to play for both seasoned gamers and those who are new to RPGs. For gamers who have played RPGs in the past, the ruleset will be very familiar since it was written with the Open Game License and is compatible with the fifth edition of the most popular RPG on the market.
The great thing about the rules we have chosen as our game's foundation is that not only is it popular and familiar to many existing gamers, but it is very easy to learn for those new to RPGs. Even if you have never rolled a 20-sided die before or played any kind of RPG, Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game will be easy to get started with!
What makes Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game unique?
While the foundation of our game will be familiar, we’ve made sure to add plenty of elements that will set it apart from existing games on the market. Players will adventure within the setting of Mythoss where they will encounter an original story with species, monsters, magical items, and more that are unique to Mythic Legions.
Players will choose to align with one of the 10 Factions found within the Realm of Mythoss. How your actions benefit your Faction, or choices you make that hurt your kingdom’s greatest enemies, can open up new abilities specific to players from each Faction.
Of course, Mythic Legions started with action figures, and those figures have an important role to play in this game with what we call “the Mythic Encounter.” Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game can be played with standees or miniatures, both of which are available as part of this Kickstarter campaign. The same characters represented in standees and minis are also available as fully posable action figures. When the adventure heats up, that is when the Mythic Encounter comes into play! Swap your 1-inch grid for a corresponding 4-inch grid map and your Mythic Legions RPG figures can replace your minis for that boss-level battle! Pose your figures according to the to spell you are casting or the blow you are about to land and see the party on the map before you come to life like never before. This is a Mythic Encounter!
As your character grows and changes during your adventures in Mythic Legions: The Roleplaying Game, so too can your action figure evolve. All Mythic Legions figures are built with popable and swappable parts, from their heads to their limbs, to their torsos, armor and more. You can mix and match parts from different figures to create your ideal character. You can also add new pieces to the figure over time as they acquire new weapons, armor, and other items.
