Brad and Mike from Legions Lair are in the hot seat!

First things first, please introduce yourself!

Mike - Hello, my name is Mike Casper. My immediate family consists of my adult son Brandon and my bullboxer Bella. I'm very blessed to have both of them in my life. I've worked in law enforcement for the past 24 years. God willing, I will be able to retire in 3 years. On my off time I enjoy hiking, biking and backpacking. Staying active in nature is by far one of my favorite things to do. My other passion is collecting and customizing Mythic Legions action figures.

Brad - Hello there friends. My name is Brad Jones. Some of you may know me from the Cabal or on a new recent show called Legions Lair. I have a super fun loving 9 year old son named Alex. I have a beautiful wife named Lauren AKA Executive Producer. I currently work for an appraisal company but have had many different jobs in the past including corrections officer (where Mike and I met), electrician, drywaller, telemarketer, butcher (meat cutter) and high performance engine builder at Summit Racing Equipment, where I met the love of my life, Lauren. I enjoy working on my muscle cars and fixing things, but I also enjoy cursing at them while I do it. I’m just super passionate about what I do, no matter what it is. I enjoy spending time with my family and collecting action figures.

When did you discover Mythic Legions?

Mike - I grew up a huge apocalyptic Masters of the Universe fan. The first wave of figures released back in 1982, which were based around the original 4 mini comics, had a major influence on me as a 9 year old boy. So back in 2019, I started to collect the MOTU Classics versions of those same characters. But something amazing happened during that process. I came across a Power Con photo of Adamonn and Keltuss. I immediately knew I had to know more about these intriguing figures. So, I ordered a Skeleton Legion Builder off of eBay. Once the figure was in my hand, I knew I had to collect the line. The quality of the figure was leaps and bounds ahead of anything else on the market. In fact, I stopped collecting all other toy lines so I could just concentrate on Mythic Legions.

Brad - I was asked by Mike to help him get a Torgun Redfin in an in stock sale. He encouraged me to get a figure for myself and he suggested Kronnaw, since I like MOTU. I was successful in helping him out and not only did I get Kronnaw, but I got Purrrplor as well. When they arrived, and I got them in my hands, I knew Mike was right. Then I became curious about other figures, and less than two years later I had collected the ENTIRE line.

Do you have any favorite kinds of Legions figure? A race or faction you prefer above the others?

Mike - My two favorite characters are Skapular and Vitus. I'm definitely a skeleton and Mercurian sort of guy. So, with that said, it's pretty easy to discern that my favorite race is the skeletons while my favorite faction is the Congregation of Necronominus.

Brad - My first two favorite figures were Asterionn and Attlus. My birthday is May 1st, and I am a Taurus, so I have always been a Minotaur fan. As for Attlus, his bio really stuck with me. I like the human race, but I also love the Birds. Avian would be pretty high up on my list too.

What kinds of races or characters are high on your "wish list" for Mythic Legions?

Mike - If we take dragons out of the equation, it would definitely be werewolves, aquatic beings and rock golems.

Brad - I would love to see the Horsemen do a recap on the birds. I feel like the birds were definitely not appreciated at first, but now they are very desirable. I would also love to see Ogre scale Minotaurs.

You've recently started a Legions-focused show. Tell us about "Legions Lair" and how it began?

Mike - Well, ever since I got into the line back in the fall of 2019, I wanted to have a podcast based solely on Mythic Legions. Kind of like an unofficial LegionsCast. But the timing wasn't right. As time went by, Brad and I reconnected and attended Mythic Weekend 2021 together. We were so inspired by the kindness of the community and grace of the studio that we both knew the time was right to move forward with the show. We decided to focus the show on getting to know our fellow fans better. The premise was to bring a tight-knit community even closer together by interviewing fans while at the same time promoting the line. And what better place to do that on than the Mythic Legions Cabal. The rest is history. Special thanks goes out to our executive producer, Lauren. For without her help, we'd literally be lost.

Brad - When Mike and I got back from the LegionsCon weekend, we talked about doing a podcast or something similar. We started by introducing ourselves on the Cabal and showing our collections on a Facebook Live in the Cabal. During my Lair tour, Walter Hagen even popped on the Live and really helped kick start the master plan for Legions Lair. We wanted to do a show based on the fans from the Cabal who love and support the 4 Horsemen and Mythic Legions, just as much as we do. The show allows us to bring in other fans, LIVE, talk about Mythics, and show off their amazing collections. We love getting to know the different members of the community from all over world. There are so many amazing customizers, painters, artists, fans, etc that we get to know just from doing the show. We ask all sorts of questions to get to know each guest, have fun, laugh, torture our Executive Producer, and be ourselves.

In the past, you both spoken about how much you enjoyed your Intern for a Day and Legions Con experience, please share some of those thoughts here with our readers.

Mike - Oh man! Talk about one of the most positive experiences of my life. The action figures were amazing, but the people were the true stars of the weekend. The studio was so welcoming at Intern for a Day. They treated me as if I was part of their family. They honestly care about their fans. And meeting fellow fans at Legions Con was incredible. Everyone was so nice and treated each other like they were lifelong friends. It was truly a life changing experience for me. I plan on attending the convention from here on out. Anybody who is on the fence about attending Mythic Weekend 2022 needs to just go. Trust me, you will NOT regret it!

Brad - Attending the Con was Mike's idea. (???) Luckily, there was still time to purchase tickets for Intern for a Day, and man, I’m glad I did! I wasn’t thinking I would leave with so many amazing memories and experiences. The entire staff at 4H studios was great. They rolled out the red carpet and showed us the times of our lives. G-con the next day was even better! We were invited to come back to the studio for Round 2! We got to see all the reveals up close and personal. LegionsCon itself was more than I could have ever imagined. I’m so glad it is now 2 days, because one day isn’t enough when you are trying to keep your eyes focused and your jaw off the floor. It is pure awesomeness.

Outside of Legions, do you collect any other toy lines?

Mike - Absolutely not, that would be heresy! LOL I have basically cut out all other collecting due to money and space constraints. I am proud to say I only have eyes for LEGIONS!

Brad - I collect NECA, TMNT, GI Joes (vintage and Classified). I also collect NECA Robocop, Terminator, Predator, along with NECA 80’S. I have to be careful because I am a completist, and could spiral down non-Mythic paths.

Looking forward, what kinds of new Mythic Legions are you most excited to hopefully get?

Mike - I would love to see the Horsemen explore the Sons of the Red Star faction deeper. I would also love to know more about Raygorr's dragon faction. I'm a lore junkie to say the least.

Brad - I would like to see a Dragon! I know the Executive Producer would love to see an updated Cat wave. But whatever the guys at 4H come up with, I am sure I will love it regardless.

And Cosmic Legions? Do you expect to dive head first into that line as well? Is there space in your collection for a Realm and a Universe?

Mike - Absolutely! My philosophy going forward is to preorder 2 all-ins of every Mythic and Cosmic wave. I've been bitten hard by the Legions bug and I couldn't be happier about it.

Brad – I am ALL IN on this. It’s not really my cup of tea, but that’s what I thought when I first heard about Mythic Legions. Now, I own the entire line!
