It is as we believed. The reported uprising was essentially a lie. The Traders Union has exaggerated the story to provide cover for their actions. The Arbiters did not hold serious talks with any on-world company officials, nor was the organized opposition to the Arbiters presence violent in any way. The Heavy Gunners were sent alongside the Union representation under the guise of protection, but they were actually used to eliminate any barriers to a full takeover by the T.U.5.C.C.. They now control all operations and assets in this sector. It has all the makings of a corporate takeover, and our Thorns are now in place to bleed them. I know we’ve seen the Union do this before, but I do believe there is more to what is going on here than just typical Traders Union business.
The mining of the Thryxium component is what we expected to have drawn the Union here, and that mining continues, but they have also begun to move some of the heavy equipment to other locations off-world. This action doesn’t make sense if the component was the primary reason for the Union’s takeover. I do not think it was. I believe that the Thryxium component was an added incentive, but that the extensive mining equipment found at the various dig sites were the main reason for the Union’s interest. I have further intel to support this theory.
One of our units operating as inter-ring marauders recently intercepted a T.U.5.C.C. vessel that had no official transport plans broadcast. That is how they came to our attention. They were flying dark, so we got in their way.
Our unit found a team of Sphexxian Miners on board. Apparently they had been abducted from a recent job mining Dorriaan gas. The miners had been taken against their will, and they had no idea where they were heading. We also found heavy equipment like what is being moved from IISH:C3 on board. Our unit tried to interrogate the crew of the ship, but they refused to talk. They also disabled the coordinates of their intended course before their ship was boarded. The best our team could figure out is that they were headed somewhere deep in the Fourth Circle.
We released the Sphexxians, but not before explaining to them that in return for our assistance, we expected something from them. Cavern Sphexx are a fairly nervous species, so a little intimidation was all it took, and our team impressed upon them that crossing the Mortal Thorn was not in their best interest. They agreed to look out for any large mining operations, especially ones backed by T.U.5.C.C.-affiliated companies, and pass that information onto us via secure channels. This is one of three Union vessels we have come across in recent cycles that was moving mining equipment to undisclosed locations. None of that equipment has been returned to operational status in official Union check-in reports. So the question is – where are they sending all this equipment and where were those miners headed?
The other development of note at this time is where the Thryxium component that the Traders Union is still mining here is being sent – to a prison complex in the Fifth called Hvalkatar. We have agents on route there already as part of a rescue mission for one of our operatives – Zeerian Spyre. There is no evidence that the T.U.5.C.C. know about her connection to us. We believe she was sent to the prison to keep her quiet about her discovery of Thryxium. By all accounts, her incarceration is purely to protect the patent-submissions the Union are submitting for Thryxium.
Our agents were instructed to secure Zeerian’s release one way or another, but the infiltration team has now been informed of our findings and will also be looking into what else may be happening at Hvalkatar. The operation will require a more subtle approach than we had initially planned.
I await my next assignment from you. For now, I remain here. We have plans in place to create what will look like an uprising of local mine workers and support personnel against their new T.U.5.C.C. overseers. Our agents are positioned strategically to inflict maximum damage once the uprising begins. There are two dozen Heavy Gunner units still stationed here on-world. Our team will eliminate them in the first 2-turns of the uprising, should we catch them by surprise. If they can sound an alarm, it will take 1 additional turn to end them, but end them we will.
I will send a transmission once our operation is completed.
Poisoned blood Thorns shall draw.
/K.
//End report.
